Current product guide

A capable font workflow, with its limits in plain view.

Typelure is built for drawing, deriving, proofing, and exporting a single font style in the browser. This page is the source of truth for what the current editor supports—and what still belongs in another production tool.

Six connected jobs

From a first outline to a testable font file.

Draw and edit real outlines

Work directly with the geometry that becomes the font.

  • Pen tool for straight and cubic Bézier segments
  • Point, contour, marquee, nudge, align, flip, and scale controls
  • Rectangle and ellipse shape tools
  • Corner, smooth-point, simplify, and smoothing actions
  • Canvas guides, coordinates, zoom, pan, and measurement
  • Undo and redo for project edits

Recover editable forms from artwork

Trace lettering locally, then refine it as font geometry.

  • Raster and SVG source artwork
  • Threshold, inversion, detail, and simplification controls
  • Cubic curve fitting for broad and tight curves
  • Protected corners for serifs and intentional direction changes
  • Editable output applied to the current glyph
  • No source-image upload to a Typelure application server

Reuse forms without freezing the design

Keep repeated decisions linked, and detach only the exception.

  • Create a component from selected complete contours
  • Insert, duplicate, move, edit, and delete linked instances
  • Edit the main component and update every linked use
  • Detach one instance into independent editable paths
  • Cross-glyph copy, cut, and paste with Bézier handles intact
  • Foundation guidance for H, O, V, n, o, dot, and apostrophe

Refine a connected type system

Judge spacing, proportions, and coverage in context.

  • Advance width and left/right side-bearing controls
  • Baseline, x-height, cap-height, ascender, and descender metrics
  • Editable proof text with spacing, alphabet, numeral, and language presets
  • Grouped Unicode glyph navigation with release-goal filters
  • Foundational derivation and supported Latin accent construction
  • Local autosave in the current browser profile

Know what is measurable before export

Use clear checks without pretending software can judge taste.

  • Release goals for a starter proof, uppercase display, Basic Latin, and Western Latin
  • Missing, empty, and invalid-width glyph recommendations
  • Naming, metric, Unicode, fallback, and contour-structure checks
  • A next-action queue organized into Create, Complete, Refine, Test, and Ship
  • Direct links from findings to the relevant glyph or setting
  • Visible limitations for checks that still require human proofing

Produce files on your device

Compile the current project without sending the font to a server.

  • Open TTF, OTF, and WOFF files
  • Export TTF for desktop testing
  • Export compressed WOFF2 for web delivery
  • Parse and compile in a dedicated browser worker
  • Preserve source projects and downloaded outputs under your control
  • Review file-format and round-trip boundaries before distribution

Support matrix

Choose files and claims by the next real job.

Import, editing, desktop installation, and web deployment are different steps. A familiar extension does not guarantee that every source table or application behavior survives a round trip.

What automated checks can prove

Typelure can measure mappings, widths, finite coordinates, contour structure, core metrics, naming fields, fallback presence, and completion against a selected recipe.

What still needs a designer

No score can certify curve quality, spacing rhythm, correct language behavior, licensing, hinting, or compatibility in every application. Proof the exported files and document the limits of the release.

Free, local-first workflow

Inspect the real controls on your own font.

No account is required. Start blank or open a supported file locally, then export before clearing browser data or changing devices.
